“Rather than saying something about what is happening, we become instruments of amplification of something that exists, the cry of the earth. Marangoni is entering fully into the history of contemporary international music”
Barbara Millucci - Corriere della Sera
“Metastasis is an extraordinary and engaging multimedia concert dedicated to the Earth, to the ecological upheavals of climate change caused by man and his inability to intervene in the processes of production and consumption […] On stage a luminous, sonorous and vocal body gives life to an engaging synaesthetic dramaturgy: Metastasis is a shaking, a subversion of the vital rhythm, and is evidently also a metaphor for the contemporary human condition.”
Anna Maria Monteverdi - Digital performance interactive arts
“A repeated motion of waves on the shore: the making, unmaking and spreading of the foam on the shoreline, always the same and always different, like a series of Bachian variations […] absence of words, of any sound that can be traced back to intelligible words, precisely through those harsh, disjointed sounds, inserted in the complex design context made of images, electronic sounds, lights, the message to which the title alludes is expressed: the prophetic, painful denunciation of a metastasis to which the planet Earth is condemned“
Claudio Facchinelli - Rumorscena
“Metastasis is a work that reaches deep into the viewer, inviting him to engage in civility to bring greater respect and gratitude towards the planet that hosts us. This is a project of great importance.”

Gabriele Marangoni's new project is an immersion in the desperate cry of planet Earth. The very particular voice of Francesca Della Monica and the electronic processing of Damiano Meacci give life to the suffering of a dying planet, poisoned and murdered by its own children and try to move consciences towards a still possible cry of revolution. A sound and visual creation that through a creative and compositional process of sounds, noises, aerial views of natural landscapes and abandoned and polluting areas, sound and video intertwine to testify to the ruin of the bond with nature, the need to search for a possible silence and the need to abandon mass consumerism.
Metastasis is a work designed in 3 phases, the first is the Digital Line (2021), the second the Live Performance (2022) and the third the Video-sound Installation (2023), this organization allows the project to extend over a wide and vast temporal surface, able to investigate all the facets of the theme both from an artistic and social and cultural point of view in a continuous production and diffusion of contents and in a perpetual evolution.

ASCOLTA I 3 PODCAST
We have become the metastasis of our own living organism. With every move we expand the cancer, we suffocate the breath, we destroy, step by step, the epidermis that protects us, we burn every hand that feeds us and, enlightened by the ignorance of a smile of fatality, we sink the murderous blade of arrogance into our mother's womb.
We must act, we must instill in the human mind the sensitivity of the necessary change. As with every dramatic historical period in the history of humanity, even today art must rediscover the power of its own language, the strength of its own gesture; a primordial force capable of changing consciences, capable of saving the existence of the mother and her children.
m e t a s t a s i s is a sound project focused on the use of extended techniques of the voice and live electronics in dialogue with the visual work.
m e t a s t a s i s is a scream.
m e t a s t a s i s is the moment before the assassination.
m e t a s t a s i s is the desperate hope.
METASTASIS | LIVE PERFORMANCE
After the first digital phase focused on the union between experimentation and documentary, Metastasis develops into a live intermedial performance in which the human voice becomes an expression of the absolute and a symbol of the desperate cry of planet Earth.
Metastasis is a technological and minimal installation in which the fusion between artistic experimentation and social responsibility takes place, an interdisciplinary work capable of blending different languages and media.
